It's always good to be prepared for emergencies, so this tow strap is a great bit of kit. It comes in a neat zipped 'bag' that contains the strap, some gloves,and some metal clamps. The strap is fluorescent green, which is useful in emergencies because it can be clearly seen. The gloves are always useful to have in the car. And the clamps look sturdy but they also look a bit small? 10 tonnes is a lot of weight much more than the average car. While I would be confident using this for a small van or car, I would question its suitability for anything larger? I would definitely get an expert to check before use. And honestly I am more likely to call the recovery truck and offer this strap to them if needed. It feels good to have this on board, especially living very rural. Decent price for something that could get you out of a dire situation.

I have had extensive use of towing kits over the years, running a fleet of vans and various unreliable cars. The 'RYLIFEOGI Tow Rope 10 Ton, 22,000Lbs 5mx5cm Heavy Duty Recovery Towing Strap' is a compact kit containing towing strap, steel d shackles, a pair of 'gloves' and a decent zip up soft case. For the princely sum of £27.99 this kit advertises a working strain of 10 tons - which is seriously impressive, though I probably wouldn't use it on a tipper truck am confident it will get my current car of any of my vans out of trouble. The strap has minimal flex, the stitching on the end loops (while not extremely neat) seems very strong. The hard shackles are a little rough around the edges, though the pins screw in nicely. The reflective strip in the strp is moveable to anywhere convenient, the gloves are a little snug but are a decent addition if you are stuck somewhere without work gloves. Though I normally use a fixed tow bar for my vans, tow bars need a fair amount of storage space so this kit will be my choice to keep in my car. In summary this kit is a thousand fold improvement over the nylon 'rope' towing kits available. Very small amount of flex - which is how it should be for non kinetic towing lines/straps.

This "RYLIFEOGI Towing Strap 10 Ton (22,000Lbs), 5mx5cm Heavy Duty Recovery Tow Rope" comes in a well-presented package which consists of the outer zip-up round pouch (bright orange colour to help spot it in the garage or in the boot!), the strap, two heavy duty shackles, and a pair of gloves. The gloves are a little on the small side for me but given that they would only be for very occasional use, something is better than nothing! The strap looks well-made and very heavy duty, with its bright fluorescent green colour being very practical for its intended use. The shackles are painted black and red are big enough to be easy fixed and unfixed by hand - there is a little hole in the screw-in part presumably to assist with tightening and/or loosening them. All in all a good little set and looks to be worth the current asking price of £27.99, less a 10% voucher.

Pros: 1. Wraps up very neatly in a small, handy carry-case and there's absolutely no reason not to stow this in the boot of your car, just in case it becomes needed 2. Comes with two shackles, which is very helpful when attaching to the towing eyelets of both vehicles 3. Even comes with gloves, so you don't get *too* messy fiddling around under the car! Before I get to the single "Con" let's discuss rolling versus lift capacity… A strap and shackles that can pull along, say, a two ton car are very different from a strap and shackle that can *lift* two tons. The rolling resistance to move something on wheels is far less than that required to lift it - you can probably push a two ton car along a road but you'd be hard pressed to lift it! So when a towing strap states a capacity, as this one does, please bear in mind it is the rolling capacity not the lifting. That said, this strap is claimed to have a capacity of ten tons which is woefully optimistic. I have a bunch of five ton straps that are far thicker and more sturdy than this one so I doubt it can pull ten tons. Intriguingly, the shackles are actually stamped "2 ton" which means you couldn't use them to pull 10 tons anyway! Cons: 1. The 10 ton rating stated is almost certainly optimistic in the extreme I've taken two stars off for this but I can't deny it's use as an emergency strap in the back of a typical one-to-two ton car.
