Not had to use the item yet, but with heavy snow continuing to fall it's looking like it won't be long until I do. Having everything stored in a bag makes it handy to keep in the boot of my 4x4 just in case. The one I purchased was sold as "used but like new, in original packaging" so was less than half price. After inspection I found that one of the D shackles has a faulty thread. The locking pin doesn't screw all the way into the shackle, but appears to be secure. If it turns out otherwise, D shackles are relatively cheap to replace so not worth returning the item just for that. I reckon I'd recommend the product, despite the faulty shackle.

I needed to make a harness to pull a wheelchair up a steep incline and experimented with this tow strap. Its really well made, light-weight but incredibly strong. You get a pair of gloves to save your hands and a handy carry case along with the hooks to attach to the pulling mechanism... another car in most cases. The reflective part can be moved to exactly where you need it which is great if you need to double up the strap. Not just for towing, this strap should be in every household as its so useful.

The Shackles are of very poor quality casting. And I am sure they are 4 ton rated shackles even if they were made correctly. Not 5 ton with a safety margin.
